The Climate Sweet Spot
Nightcrawlers thrive between 55–77°F. Round Rock averages 68°F for most of the year, with mild winters that rarely drop below freezing for more than a few days. Compare that to Minnesota or New York where outdoor worm farming shuts down for months — here, we can run year-round outdoors from March through November with just a little management in the cold months.

The Fishing Culture
Central Texas has incredible freshwater fishing. Lake Georgetown, Lake Stillhouse Hollow, Lake Travis, Brushy Creek — all within 30 minutes of our house. Fishing is a huge part of life here, which means there's a built-in customer base for quality live bait.
The Gardening Community
Round Rock has a thriving community garden scene, a farmers market, and a population that cares about local and organic products. We've had multiple customers tell us they'd been looking for local worm castings for years. We showed up right when the demand was there.
The Texas Soil
Central Texas soil is famously challenging — heavy clay in some areas, rocky in others. Worm castings dramatically improve both types, which creates strong demand from local gardeners who are fighting tough soil. Our product solves a real, local problem.
Being Part of the Community
People in Round Rock are genuinely supportive of kid businesses. We've been featured in our neighborhood newsletter, mentioned at the local farmers market, and our school invited us to speak at career day. That kind of community support doesn't happen everywhere. We're grateful for it every day.
